Case Studies

A closer look at three engagements that show how clinical credibility and commercial discipline combine to move the needle.

Plannery · Health Tech Startup
Building a go-to-market category from zero
GTM & Customer Success
Challenge

An early-stage healthcare fintech serving clinicians needed hospital and health system adoption for a category-defining product, with no CRM, sales infrastructure, onboarding process, or clinician-informed product roadmap yet in place.

Approach

Stood up the full sales and customer success infrastructure from scratch alongside the CEO/Founder, building a pipeline dashboard, deploying Attio and Apollo for CRM and outreach, and developing onboarding and activation playbooks and prospect/customer demos. Represented the clinician and customer voice in product stand-ups, shaping the roadmap through feature recommendations and hands-on testing, and supported development of the AI Financial Coach product in partnership with HealthStream ShiftWizard.

Outcome

Engaged CNOs, Nursing Directors, and CHROs directly on clinician financial health, retention, and workforce stability, building the executive trust and repeatable process needed to scale hospital adoption.

AI & Customer Success
Challenge

A $150M+ portfolio of AI and clinical decision support solutions faced uneven adoption, inconsistent implementation processes, and fragmented feedback loops across a global physician, nurse, and pharmacist customer base.

Approach

Redesigned the customer success team structure and operating model, standing up dedicated EHR integration and CSM teams that delivered 20+ full-scale system integrations (FHIR, SSO, API) and supported 30+ ClinicalKey AI implementations. Built launch playbooks, journey mapping, and RACI processes for AI CDS pilot-to-GA deployment, integrated the PROSCI change management framework into customer consulting, and implemented Gong across all CS teams to close feedback loops with sales, product, and marketing.

Outcome

Scaled implementation volume 40% (2022–2025) while lifting CSAT from 82% to over 90%, sustained 100% triage and resolution SLAs, and built a sustained enterprise education motion, including an AI employee certification course completed by 5,000 customer-facing staff at 96% completion and 95% satisfaction.

Built the business case, governance design, and implementation plan for a national Nurse Residency Program; directed system-wide Resuscitation Quality Improvement.

Outcome

Established enterprise standards for orientation, competency assessment, simulation, and professional development across every division.

Leadership Philosophy

Five strengths. One throughline.

My Gallup CliftonStrengths (Futuristic, Ideation, Relator, Achiever, Competition) shape how I lead: seeing ahead, building what doesn't exist yet, and doing it with people I trust.

"Clinicians shouldn't be the final checkpoint after AI has already done the work. They should lead it (from conception through continuous improvement), defining what it does, how it behaves, and how it fits into care."

Read the framework: From Clinician-in-the-Loop to Clinical Product Leadership →
Futuristic
I see where healthcare is headed before it arrives, from AI-enabled point-of-care tools to the governance structures that will make them trustworthy for nurses.
Ideation
New models energize me: a national nurse residency built from scratch, a launch playbook nobody had written yet, a simulation center designed around how clinicians actually learn.
Relator
Growth happens through real relationships, with clinicians, executives, and the nurses whose trust every new technology has to earn.
Achiever
I measure leadership in outcomes: measurable quality improvements, employee and clinician satisfaction scores, and positive patient impact, as much as pipeline built or portfolios scaled.
Competition
I build the highest-performing teams, dedicated to improving the lives of clinicians and patients, doing so with respect, empathy, and compassion, all while questioning the status quo.

25 years. One throughline.

Bridging bedside credibility with technology commercialization, from direct patient care, to academic leadership, to scaling AI-enabled solutions across the world's health systems.
